The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is an unaided row that will take you more than 3000 Miles west from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands, (28oN 18oW) to Nelson’s Dockyard, English Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda (17oN 61oW).

 

The event brings together people from all across the globe who gather in the race village of San Sebastian where the atmosphere is electric as everyone involved supports and helps each other in preparing for the mammoth challenge of taking on the mighty Atlantic Ocean.

 

They all however have the same singular objective –  to complete the unique and unparalleled experience of crossing an ocean... in a rowing boat.

€6million RAISED FOR CHARITY

Rowers will row for 2 hours, and sleep for 2 hours, constantly, 24 hours a day for the 3000 mile journey.

Over €6million has been raised for charities worldwide over the past 4 races with race publicity also raising their individual profiles.

GLOBAL RACE COVERAGE

Each team will row in excess of 1.5 million oar strokes over a race. The waves the rowers will experience can measure up to 20ft high.

The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is broadcast to a global audience via TV, Digital Media, Print Media and a Race Tracking App. Race videos attract millions of views from across the world.

THE CHALLENGE OF A LIFETIME

The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge brings together teams from all walks of life united by the same objective. Teams battle with sleep deprivation, salt sores, and the physical extremes inflicted by the race. Mentally rowers are left with their own thoughts, an expanse of the ocean and the job of getting the boat safely to the other side. The mental and physical endurance required tests all teams to their limits and will result in the successful crews achieving a life changing experience which will never be forgotten.

SOCIAL MEDIA EXPOSURE

The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge Facebook page has significantly more followers in the 25-54 age group than the Facebook average. The launch of Facebook Live coverage was hugely popular, attracting more than 588,553 unique video views.
